I got this book in the mail Saturday afternoon and by 4:30 AM on Monday I had finished it! I couldn’t put it down! The characters were so well written, especially Chase. He was my absolute favorite.

  • Brian Coultrup says:

I first heard about Erin when reading Kiss and Burn, which were co-authored with Ted Dekker. I loved them both and read Never Let You Go as soon as it was released. With that book Erin proved that she can write an amazing book on her own. And now with The Promises She Keeps, Erin has proven once and for all that she has what it takes to be considered an excellent author. Her characters are easy to relate to, and her stories fill the reader with hope. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read! Keep up the great work, Erin!

  • Utterly stirring! The characters took root in my heart from the very first chapter. A beautiful novel, brilliantly written with a captivating story that is both suspenseful and incredibly touching. It will leave you with new thoughts on what it means to live and to love. My favorite of Erin’s novels so far. I can’t wait to read more!

  • I thought Promise was an amazing, strong, young woman in spite of everything going on. And I learned so much about trees! The story was really easy to visualize. Great Book! <3

  • Lori Quick says:

This is one of my favorite books. I loved how Chase saw people as trees and drew their pictures. A fantastic book. Thank you Erin. I am looking forward to the next book.

  • caroline quinones says:

I have read all of erin’s books and I loved the promise she keeps. It moved me literally to tears. I was so engrossed in the story and felt all the emotions of the characters. I often look at trees now and think what kind of tree would I be? I loved this book and cant wait for more from Erin!

  • Dawn Coleman says:

Erin Healy is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I discovered her through reading Ted Dekker and realized that she is definitely a stand alone story teller. Her stories are thought provoking and grip you till the very end. The Promises She Keeps is a hit. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

PS. I love that Erin is so connected to her fans. If you haven’t joined her on Facebook, do it!

  • I finished reading this last week, borrowed it from a friend. Thanks, Erin, for writing clean fiction!

  • I read The Promises She Keeps a few weeks ago and I was just blown away by it. I loved that you used a person with CF, my nephew has CF and it’s nice to see some publicity for the disease since I know I knew little about it years ago. I loved the characters in this and the storyline kept me reading and reading until I was done. I have a review on my blog and also on Amazon. Thank you Erin – for giving us another wonderful book (I loved Never Let You Go as well).

  • Evan Morgan says:

Loved it! Totally different than NLYG but still amazing!

  • Cheryl Olson says:

I loved this book! It was a compelling read and am recommending it to all my reader friends. With certain books I get that “reader’s grief” when you are done with the book and wish that you weren’t. I’m so glad to add Erin Healy to my list of favorite authors!

  • Gavin Pierce says:

Amazing book! Loved how descriptive it was, and the ending had a fabulous twist I never saw coming!

  • Kristy Pelletier says:

It’s amazing. I read the first sentence and was blown away. I actually stopped and reread it two or three more times it was just so powerful. As I read the first few chapters I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t continuous or where it was going and it intrigued me more. This book will definitely suck you in and before you know it you just can’t stop. It’s another amazing book by Erin Healy that makes you stop and think.

  • melissa says:

Erin…read it and r-e-a-l-l-y enjoyed it. You have knack for writing appealing fiction, that’s for sure. 🙂

  • Duane Benedict says:

I really enjoyed reading this book. Erin does a great job of painting word pictures. In this book, the pictures and the paintings are as vibrant and vital as the characters. She also addresses issues related to autism in an honest and accurate manner. This is the 4th of Erin’s books that I’ve read and I am looking forward to reading her next book.

My current copies of her books are all out on loan to friends.

  • Marti Frazier says:

The Promises She Keeps is a love story for everyone. Much like The Bride Collector by Ted Dekker, we are given a “mind’s eye” into God’s infinite love, and the result is absolutely breathtaking. I highly recommend this book to everyone!

  • Mary Preston says:

A must read & now a permanent part of my library.

  • Renn S says:

I immensely enjoyed the Promises She Keeps. I read it while I was on vacation, and it was a very intriguing read. At the beginning I was confused about how Chase and Promise would interact, but by the end I was blown away the storyline. Promises She Keeps certainly contained a lot of emotion, but I was glad that I read it. 🙂

  • Theresa Houze says:

Just finished reading The Promises She Keeps this weekend, when I should really have been studying for midterms! It was absolutely amazing, my favorite story from you yet and one of my favorites, period. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

  • Amber McCallister says:

My breath was taken away by the powerful simplicity of this story of love, unconditional love.

At times, I was reminded of the story of Psyche in Til We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis. Psyche was seen as someone who had “gone mad” by her sister because of her claim to have married a wonderful man who provided her with a beautiful house and fine clothes while her sister was convinced she was tricked into marry a “beast”\man of questionable intent who made her live in the forest and dress in rags.

What we see\desire most out of life may not always make sense to those around us. Those things may not be bad in and of themselves. What we need to watch out for is not letting those desires take over our lives if they turn us away from our friends, family, and our belief and trust in God.

The things that matter most in life can’t always be seen, touched, tasted, or felt. You see them in your mind, you touch them in your heart, you taste them with your soul, and you feel them with your whole being.

Faith, hope, and love guide and drive our world. The question we all have to answer for ourselves is:

In whom or what, does you faith, hope, and love reside?

  • Sara Rassler says:

This is such an amazing story. I’m a sucker for deep love stories and this one was great.

  • Geoff Smith says:

I have not yet had a chance to read this book, though I would love to. Currently serving in ministry in the country of Hungary makes it difficult to keep up with the many books I would love to read. I have read Kiss and Burn and look forward to reading Never let you go sometime soon after I finish Ted’s Immanuel’s Veins. I would love to get a copy of The Baker’s Wife as I love reading your stuff and though I don’t know anything about the story, I love baking and cooking and would love to see how that fits into your story. If I were to get a copy I could have it sent to my mother’s in the states and she could send it over to me. I hope I get one, that would be such a blessing!

  • Max Sorrelle says:

I loved this book. My nephew has autism. This book spoke to me.

  • Jodi Montague says:

Love, love, love it!! I’m hooked already. I can’t wait to finish the book. I’ve been sucked in and now I’m left haning?!?! I can’t wait until the book is released!!

  • James N says:

Awesome book. I love the way you write and can’t wait for your next book. I have read all of your books so far.

  • Brandon B says:

Just finished The Promises She Keeps a day or so ago.

Absolutely wonderful. Liked it from beginning to end. I loved Chase’s character a lot. He was very interesting and, well, lovable. Thank you for giving us a look into the life of someone living with autism.

I was scared where you were going to go with Zack, but glad with the end.

The artistic focus in this book was great. Being somewhat of an artist myself (not half as good as Chase, though, haha), I enjoyed the art in TPSK immensely.

Thank you for the signed copy, for me and my friend 🙂
    God Bless.

  • Chuck davis says:

I love this book. I’m very loyal to the authors I read.i probably wouldn’t have heard of erin healy if you hadn’t cowritten with ted dekker. I loved kiss and burn so much, I had to check you out. I enjoyed never let you go so much, I had to read promises. Now I am officially hooked.

Promises kept me guessing. I loved how you kept connecting the characters. And having chance turn into that vine was a stroke of genius.

  • Sarah says:

Sounds fantastic! I adored Kiss and Burn and this plot sounds fascinating. Will order it as soon as possible!
